Dear Maria and Dionysis, what a lovely time we had. Thank you! Daphnes is just such a perfect place to spend a holiday with your family. The gardens are beautiful and it is so quiet and peaceful. We desperately needed a break like that. The children loved it - the beaches and all the games we played, the late meals at the local taverna, and the playing of cards on the veranda until midnight. (Freddy and Alice now knows how to play Bridge.) Special thanks again for the meal at Nikos taverna (where we had our wedding party seven years ago!) Lots of love. Karin and Tom

Dear friends, After having the guestbook closed for a long time we will try again and hope that no spam will disturb us...We had a good season last year and look forward to another fine summer this year with guests from many different countries. Many are coming back and that makes us feel very good and we are also happy that many new people find their way to us and Zakynthos, our beautiful island! The winter this year has been very mild and dry. The first rain came yesterday, we hope there will be more of it because the plants and trees really need it. Now the hills above Gerakas are yellow from all the flowers and all the trees are green with new leaves again. The sea is unusually warm, Dionysis has been swimming the whole winter. Our first guests are arriving end of April. May looks busier than usual which is nice because May is such a wonderful time to be here. Daphnes var över förväntan! Underbart!Allt var perfekt (förutom myggen då..) Min mamma och jag firade våra 50 resp 70-årsdagar här med familj och vänner, 16 personer totalt! Bodde alla i ett och samma hus, frukost på en veranda, en drink på en annan, middag ibland. Maria och Dionysis ordnade "förfest" vid huset och även middag på restaurang Perasma som var den bästa! *************************************** Daphnes was even better than we expected! Wonderful! Everything was perfect(except the mosquitos..) My mother and I celebrated our 50th and 70th birthday here with family and friends, 16 people all together! We all stayed in one apartment building, had breakfast together on one of the verandas, a drink on another and sometimes dinner as well. Maria and Dionysis arranged "starters and drinks" for the celebration at the apartments and also birthday dinner at the tavern called Perasma, the best tavern! Igår kom vi hem från en första vistelse på Daphnes.Jag trodde inte att sådana platser fanns kvar... Det kändes genuint och äkta att få uppleva Grekland i det lilla Porto Roma. Naturen och boendet samt bemötandet från innevånarna vi mötte och Daphnes värdpar var grunden för en i alla avseenden härlig vecka.Dessutom var det lätt att med buss och bil ta sig ut på upptäcktsfärd till resten av ön.Men varje paradis har sin orm, på Daphnes i form av myggen, så glöm inte något långärmat att ha på kvällen och myggspray.
****************************************** Yesterday we returned from our first stay at Daphnes. I did not know there still exist places like this... It felt like the genuin and real Greece in little Porto Roma. The nature and the accommodation as well as the kindness of the locals and our hosts at Daphnes was the basic conditions for a wonderful week. And easily we also discovered the rest of the island by bus and a rented car. But every paradise has its serpent, at Daphnes there were mosquitos, so dont forget to bring something with long sleeves to wear in the evenings and a mosquito repellent.
